Help Salopek & Associates raise funds for the Annual Run to Renew Fundraiser in support of the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society – AARCS!

Salopek & Associates Annual Run to Renew was born 4 years ago out of the Partner’s love for running and supporting non-profit organizations at a time of year when funds are typically low, hence the term “renew”. It was inspired at a time of year when our new year’s resolutions to live healthier lives and exercise may be wavering and encourages people to “renew” their personal commitment to being active.

In 2015 Salopek & Associates hosted their 1st run with only a small group of 12 people – namely team and family members. It quickly began to grow in size and in 2018 Salopek saw their biggest turn out yet with over 30 runners. Founder & President, Janet Salopek has a strong passion for running and placed top 10 in her age group for the Boston Marathon in 2011.

This year Salopek & Associates has chosen to support the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society, a non-profit organization based in Calgary, who are leaders in Alberta animal welfare with a goal to help homeless animals in our community and enacting societal change so that someday we may all witness a Compassionate World for All Animals. There are 3,500 animals that come through AARCS programs each year and have an exceptional veterinary medical program coordinated from an in-house veterinary hospital located at AARCS Safe Haven shelter in Calgary. Having a veterinary hospital on-site has given AARCS the ability to help the animals in most dire need of medical attention with onsite surgical suites and the ability to provide life-saving treatment. AARCS Safe Haven shelter and on-site veterinary hospital provides emergency medical care and new beginning for each rescued animal on their journey to forever, adoptive homes.

With your support we can run to renew the lives for the following animals:

TEAM RITZA: When she arrived at AARCS her skin was raw and deteriorating due to demodex mange. Ritza is being handled with care while Dr. Sam works on a diagnosis and treatment plan. Her nearly bare tail still wags as soon as she is shown some tender love.  You can help renew Ritza chance for a healthy and happy life by joining her team and running for her!

TEAM ORACLE:  She just arrived to ARRCS in our care in critical condition. She is currently at the AARCS Veterinary Hospital being treated for multiple injuries, including facial trauma and skull fractures.  The extent of her injuries are still up in the air, we are doing everything we can to save her. Your support is much appreciated to help renew her chances of a happy and healthy life.

TEAM KENZO : Kenzo is a A true underdog, Kenzo’s came to AARCS with a number of complications.  After further examination and x-rays, it’s been determined that his hind leg fracture has shattered his growth plate which is irreparable. Once the immense swelling subsides, Kenzo will be undergoing amputation of his broken limb. Regrettably, this is not the only challenge he will be facing, as his other hind leg has a torn cruciate which will need to be assessed by an orthopedic specialist who will then determine an appropriate treatment. Your support in running for Kenzo will help in support of his treatment and renew his chance at a happy, healthy life!
